Howdy yall! August is shaping up to be quite a productive month for us as we gear up for some very fun, all very unique shows and collaborations.
This upcoming Saturday, Aug 4, were playing a rock show at the Jam with new to the scene heavy blues outfit Dirt Magic and our old friends The Tweeners from here in Eureka! Tavan Anderson is rumored to be sitting in on drums for the Tweeners; we cant wait to hear what they've been cooking up!
The following Saturday, we're co-hosting a Night of Music and Poetry at Humbrews in Arcata! The Word Humboldt Crew will be facilitating a poetry open mic then taking the stage as a crew with DJ Goldylocks and possibly members of Hollow Down, followed by a set by us with our brother Wil Gibson. Just as I type this, I got word that Jullia Finkelstein will be joining us with live painting that evening! That will be a night to remember for sure.
Late this month, we couldn't be happier to be opening for Marty O'Reilly and the Old Soul Orchestra at Siren's Song Tavern in Eureka! That show is a long time coming since Hollow Down first played with them in 2014. We can't wait.
We'll be ending the month at the new Madrone Pizza and Taphouse in Eureka, following the Friday Night Market! We love supporting new venues, and will be joining Mister Moonbeam (yay!) and Mojave Green (ditto!) for the evening!
We're also gearing up to collaborate on a claymation video with Violet Crabtree, and we are very excited to start sharing snippets of that as it develops. Stay tuned y'all; the band is writing together and with Wil; new stuff is right around the corner......
